YumYum Japan is a Korean-language app for travelers in Japan. Snap a menu and it shows Korean names, main ingredients, allergy cautions and a big Japanese order card to show your server. No sign-up. The app screens are in Korean only.
Press the shutter and every dish gets a Korean name and a reading. You can also pick a photo from your gallery.
Works best on horizontal, printed menus in common fonts. Vertical writing and handwriting can be less accurate.
Results come from a dictionary and AI estimates and can be wrong.
Ingredients and allergy cautions
Tap a dish for a one-line description, main ingredients (they vary by restaurant), allergy cautions and a source label: dictionary or AI estimate.
Choose the ingredients you avoid once. Matching dishes get a caution. The list stays on your phone.
Allergy information is for reference only. A missing caution does not mean an ingredient is absent. Always check with the staff before you order.
An order card for your server
A large Japanese ordering sentence with a quantity, plus an allergy-check question, ready to show on your screen.
The text card is always free.
Save dishes to look at again later.

Questions
Is the app available in English or Japanese?
No. The app is in Korean only. It is made for Korean-speaking travelers in Japan, and this site's English and Japanese pages are short introductions.
No, use it as a reference only. Ingredients and cautions come from a built-in dictionary and AI estimates and can be wrong. A missing caution does not mean an ingredient is absent. Always check with the staff before you order. The app does not decide or guarantee whether a dish contains any ingredient.
What happens to my photos?
The app only reads a photo you take with the camera or pick with Android's photo picker. It does not ask for access to your whole gallery, storage or location. Only when you turn on the optional precise analysis, the photo is sent through our server to a text-recognition service and deleted after processing. How photos and menu text are processed is written in the privacy policy (Korean).
